...two pedals that totally kick ass... dood - you read my mind - next question was gonna be along the lines of 'surely there's some double pedal setup I can get that will engage crunch then take to lead - then I just need a chorus'... good call. at this stage there's only one groupie that actually ...

well thanks heaps all - I'll call John (as our guitarist and bassist are in cambridge and hami respectively it'll be easier for me) and have him look at the jansen. really appreciate all the feedback and advice - and I'll look at the pedals - two pedals I can live with - although I really heavily us...

Admittedly I'm a Vox freak, having owned around a dozen Vox's over the years, but with a wad of cash couldn't you get an AC30CCH for around $1200 new ? I think they are around $1400 RRP ... even though its made in China its a great sounding amp.. I really like my current vox - am I reading this rig...

shipping - gong on my brother's word, but hes lived in london for over 20 years so I guess he's pretty up with the play - not the kind of guy to pull that amount out of his hat, but he may have a route other than postal he's thinking of (good at thinking outside the square he is). but I'm warming mo...

well that's sounding promising - maybe there's life in the old girl after all.. I'm all for recycling, and the band doesn't own it, I do - so warranty and gst and all the other tax/busines crap doesn't count.. hmmm.. the thot plickens... so once again (just to clarify) the bassman50 would be fine as...

whoa - been away from the laptop for ½ a day and wow - so much to respond to - okay @everyone - thanks... seems to be a resounding no to the fallen angel. @sam - reeeaaalyy don't want another combo (I have two). @BG - so a bassman50 will do the trick? I mean - I have one of those - it stopped worki...

@scarecrow - it's looking more and more like I should either go for the fallen angel - or back the hell off until I've got a bunch more cash behind me by the sounds of things - general consensus is that the Ashdown is kinda 'average at best' and anything else is gonna be out of my walletabability (I...

What's the actual price on the Ashdown Fallen Angel 60? well I've not seen 'em in NZ, but there's one online in the uk for 299quid - I've a brother over there who could prolly sort sending it on, and the bonus is that it's already gonna be 230V. so that's like ~NZ$820 - then postage (surely less th...

Re: POST SUBJECT FORMATTING BLOWS GOATS

Thanks for the ideas, but  I do already own a combo, and it does the job just fine. I'd like a tube amp because - well - I don't have one yet, and if I'm going to buy another amp it wont be a combo - cos I have one. I understand what you're saying, but logic be damned - I am looking for a head...

Re: Peavey Valve King
Thats about the cheapest high-wattage tube head available. Not sure if it comes in under your $1k retail figure, but might just squeak in there. Its got 100W, plenty of gain on tap and does a nice clean too - doesnt come with a footswitch but any generic 2-button footswitch should work (i use a joh...
