Amp tech.

Well my Orange decided to die yesterday for no apparant reason. When I turn it on the light doesn't light up and nothing but a very faint hum comes out, I'm hoping it's just a fuse.

So does anyone have the name and number of that amp tech in Mt Eden? Clanrence or something.... :?

I can undestand the inspiration of a new amp and confines of a bad one but I still think your fingers and style have much more definition on your playing.

What I meant was it's not a huge deal, amps which are similarly set up (I.e AD30/AC30, amps using the same tubes and general set up) are going to sound pretty similar there is no way around this. What I'm getting at is that people take "tone" so seriously lighten up already, it's in the fi...

No I'm not, in a live situation you could be playing a home made "Crapmaster Deluxe" and it would still sound similar to a Marshall or what have you.

Not to mention your average joe don't give two shits about "tone".

Yeah I agree with you dude, most tube amps don't differ by huge amounts. I mean ideally I want an Orange AD140h but it's way out of my budget...

Well you see many of these single channel amps have a high and low input. High being higher gain. So I want to know if you can someone use the inputs with a pedal to essentially make the amp twin channel. So hit the button and your on the high input and hit it again and your on the low input. So is ...

I'm sorry but I hardly think a really thin layer of glue affects tone very much if at all. I would worry more about dodgy pedals or even cheap electronics (pots etc) over a thin glue layer...

Single channel amps.

I have a quick question regarding single channel amps that have a high and low input, ala Marshall Plexi heads and old Fender amps. Can the inputs be used with an a/b box?

Like switching between one or the other?

Laney amps.

Well people I'm wondering what people think of Laney amps. From what I have read they seem to be pretty good for the money. They make standard British tube amps which is what I'm keen on.

Thoughts?

How much do we think these will be? I thought the Korea made PRS guitars were still in the $1500 - $2000 range, you could get a jap made Tokai for that!!
