They’re replacements, but the footprint is right for that era- would be interesting to see if there are any extra screw holes under those.

Re: Strings to balance filtertrons ?

It’s less of an issue with HiLoTrons, so I’ve often wondered if it’s a function of the humbucking nature of Filtertrons?

I use a handful of noise reduction tools that are built around neural networks. Pretty amazing stuff.

Re: Subtle warm drive pedal

I’ve got something you might want to try- a Nobels ODR-1. They’re really rather nice, and not the typical thing. Plus it’s bright green.

What colour? I think I’m leaning towards the Metallic KO out of the current options.
He has one of the orange ones from the original run.

Re: MDF vs Ply for Cabs

Weight and water damage are my only issues with MDF. If that sorted, then I don’t really care. While I don’t aim to let my cabs get wet, I’d rather they weren’t ruined by an unexpected flood (I’m right in the middle of dealing with a laundry flood that has managed to go through a wall into a bedroom...

Re: Mixing & Panning

I am reasonably happy with my mix which follows Ben's suggestion above (thank you Sir): - Vocals in center except when double tracking in the chorus, then main vocal panned hard left, DT vocal panned hard right. - Piano panned hard left - Rhythm guitar panned hard right (except during the guitar so...

The exception is as the others have said- low frequency instruments (bass and kick) in the middle - because it’s harder to hear directionality in low frequencies.
