Re: Microphone - GLS Es57
I have three of these mics. Better and more extended top end than the SM57.

Re: Show Us Your Tone
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eD7vRdtgvNg I wanted to see how much tone I could wring out of my recently purchased Tech21 Blonde. It's a really remarkable little thing. I'll be carrying it with me so I have a backup if my amp ever dies on the gig. It's not bloody bad! Excuse the one take, rough a...

Re: Do strings have a use by?
I use Elixirs on some acoustics. Yep, they last. They sound a bit odd to me though. YMMV.

Re: Do strings have a use by?
GHS seem to be worse than just about every other brand. I use Nickel Rocker 11s on all my electrics and I'm forever trying to find sets that aren't spotted with rust. GHS even sent me a couple of dozen half sets a few years back to make up for it but they were toast in no time. I think they need to ...

Re: Getting Your Music On Vinyl
Well..... should have just googled!!! Fun to discuss here though. I have found a Aussy outfit that will do 150 records with color printed sleeves, plastic slips etc, at $2300 NZD. That's a little over $15 a LP. Not bad!!!!! ....... Product out-weighing demand by a factor of "warp 5". Are ...

Re: Best acoustic pickup?
I have a K&K Pure Mini in my Gibson LG-2 and it sounds brilliant. THE most acoustic sounding pickup I've ever owned.
Tricky installation (and kinda permanent) but worth it I reckon.
YMMV etc.

Re: Acoustic percussion stompboxes
I have bought two Puck n' Stompers. They are BY FAR the best of everything I've tried. We even left my partner's bass drum at home on the last tour. They are THAT useable.

Darren Watson & Matt Langley | Shoot Your Television NZ Tour
I'm touring late June/early July with the very talented Matt Langley. I'll be playing my lil' 50's Gibson acoustic, the Beltona Reso, and probably a Tele for the later numbers with some drumming ' stuff. It's gonna be a blast being on the road again. :mental: Details and dates here: http://www.event...
