I had a CN 100 from this era - excellent guitar - good pickups - I reckon this model could be ok

Re: U2 Rollcall!

Yeah I knew it would be loud - I could heard parts of the thursday show from my house ... and I live in Birkenhead !!
I've been to a few U2 shows and musically this one didnt really take me anywhere, possibly because I was concentrating on Edge the whole time I forgot about the actual songs

Re: Andy Timmons

Definately one of my top 2 or 3 players I Love Andy's tone - sort of "hendrixisque" clean but dirty at the same time. He is also a very physically adept player, looking at his right hand technique sometimes it seems to accelerate in an instant and all you see is a blur Been looking around ...

Re: My word, I just realised how much I love/hate chorus

Rate way down @ 7 oclock & depth around 12oclock on my ce2 gives a nice semi flange / phaser flavour.
Fills out 7th Chords and helps if your intonation isnt 100% !

Re: The one that got away.... gear you SHOULDN'T of sold!

My main gear from early 80's Ibanez CN100 - Burgundy finish a real gem, great neck, super balance. Rockit 60/100 early white vinyl model - JBL e120 - retubed with mesa 6L6s I took the tone for granted - but every time we supported bigger bands, Guitarists always asked me to borrow it. Sold both to f...

Re: New song - Here Beside You

Thats not bad, agree with some of whats been said so far. Certainly it would sound good on radio, film or tv soundtrack. Arrangement wise its good, builds in the right places, musically I think it would hit some emotional buttons. The only thing is that to me the vocals sound a bit contrived, eg I d...

Re: Abbey Boogey amp?

Yep - Made in CHCH around early 80s = wicker front combo 60w valves EL 84 I think 1 x 12.
Similar to the early 60/100 Rockits - obviously back then there were no Mesa's around so if you wanted something like it the Abbey or or the Rockit were the choices.
