Amp Repair In Auckland - Suggestions
Apparently Clarry doesn't live in Auckland anymore so I'm after someone to repair my wife's Fender Hotrod Deluxe that doesn't take 3 to 6 months of continually chasing up. The overdrive channel is almost silent. Suspected valves at first but have had these tested and they check out ok so more likely...
Re: Ejamming
Tried this last night. Good quality audio, but fairly shit so far. Was trying to set up a rehearsal for my wife with her bro down in Chch and the latency was noticeable enough to make it not worth continuing. Made sure we both had sufficient upload speeds etc, but it just wouldn’t play ball. How peo...

Re: Martin DX1AE - What's your opinion?
If I hadn’t have looked at the product specs and found out it was constructed of manmade materials, I would have been none the wiser. I initially assumed that the fretboard and bridge material was just some very, very darkly stained rosewood or ebony equivalent. The photo mahogany finish on the back...

Re: Martin DX1AE - What's your opinion?
I’m just amazed at the tone that you can get from a guitar that (apart from the top, bracing and bridge plate) is essentially made out of recycled paper, sawdust and resin. I’ve done a lot of reading in the last couple of days on Richlite, HPL and Stratabond because I was a bit sceptical that these ...

Martin DX1AE - What's your opinion?
Just a quicky review of a guitar I bought for my wife yesterday. My wife got it into her head that she wanted to play a Martin like her brother. Her guitar at the time was an Epiphone EJ200 with a Fishman Matrix Infinity pick up installed. Great guitar but being a Jumbo it was always a bit awkward f...

That's actually pretty amazing, especially the alternate tuning.

Local Support Act Needed - Raglan - 13th of April
Playing at the Yot Club in Raglan on the 13th of April. Support act we thought we were going to use is unavailable. We need a local act, either local to Raglan or wider Waikato area. Must be compatible musically. We are a 5 piece act who play a mix of crowd pleasing blues, country and summery music ...

Re: NFWTFITTGD ( again!)
Just based on the photos that would actually be worth throwing some coin at to restore if you can get it for nothing.

Who imports Gold Tone products in NZ?
Got some serious G.A.S. for a Gold Tone PBB but would really like to have a play with one before I lay down any bucks. Anyone got any ideas who imports these or better still a shop in Auckland where I can try one out?

Anything by Old School Freight Train is awesome. But this is the track that got me onto them:

Re: One Acoustic to rule them all...
Ideally you'd get a fully solid guitar, no ply. Solid top is the best bang for buck compromise. Stikka Spruce for top is probably best, though Cedar sounds nice it isn't as hard wearing and doesn't mature as well, I'm told. Back and sides, most people prefer rosewood for tone. I have mahogany back ...
