I dont know that the Dre cans are designed for mixing - I'd say they're probably not flat enough. In my experience the best way to test mixes is on as many speaker setups as you can access; headphones, laptop, car, regular home stereo, PA etc. If you're mix is consistent and good over lots of syste...

the biggest simplest tip i can think of is TEST YOUR MIXES ON ALL SORTS OF SPEAKERS! - as many different types as you can. Heaps of people love how their monitors sound and put too much faith in them - nothing more embarrassing than running off to a mate with your badass mix to have it come out soun...
