Re: All ages venues in Auckland
Yeah, looks like my only option is the scout hall. The lineup's been confirmed for months but I've only recently found the time to start looking for a venue. There's a desperate need for a central city All Ages venue, and I'm in talks with a few interested people that might lead to one being eventua...

Re: All ages venues in Auckland
I can't see where you mention what size venue you are looking for... i.e. how many people will it hold, if you need a stage, PA etc... what time will the gig be. Thats some important stuff to know. Sorry, yeah I should have clarified. Would be a pretty early gig. between 4pm-8pm most likely, since ...

Re: All ages venues in Auckland
Yes but was always too expensive and is now apparently being turned into a karaoke bar!?
Forget AA _venues_, since we all already have a fair idea of the pre-existing ones - does anyone have any suggestions that aren't specifically AA venues but can double up as one? People who own shops, etc?

DJ strings effect!?
How does this guy do this!? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDsiNTA7ipo See 3 minutes 50 seconds. Basically it seems this effect he has attached to the body of his guitar allows him to transform the sound of him scratching his strings into the sound of a DJ scratching on a deck. Any theories as to ho...

All ages venues in Auckland
Hope I didn't post this in the wrong forum. Anyway. I'm putting on a show with some out of town guys for October 1 and spent all day today trying to find an AA venue that will host it. I've asked Shed^10, the basement, the high seas, a cafe, rehearsal spaces, etc etc... and none are available for th...

Hey all, I posted this thread a few days back: http://www.nzguitars.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=17928 And have since revised my electrical strategy. I'm thinking of copying the rick-o-sound style, as seen in this schematic: http://www.nzguitars.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=17928 ...Howe...

Bigsby, Rick-O-Sound, copper wire and my new guitars
I picked these up the other day: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=301419630 Can anyone identify what they might be? People have suggested Guyatone but I'm not so sure. Sounding AMAZING - but just a few nuts and bolts that need to be sorted out. Namely, neither of the two of these came...
