Re: New Music - Devonian Sun (Wellington)
Cool! I wouldn't mind jamming it out with a bassist or drummer in Wellington. I think that would be a lot of fun

Re: New Music - Devonian Sun (Wellington)
Cheers! I never set out to explicitly copy, but I'm definitely aware of my inspirations at times and I'm happy to channel that into whatever I'm writing.

New Music - Devonian Sun (Wellington)
Hey all, I bought an Axe FX a few months ago and thought I should finish some of my songs. Up to this point, I had a valve amp and a collection of pedals. I was very happy with my tone, but I never invested the time to find ideal mic positions and as a result, I always felt that my guitar parts were...

Re: BBE Sonic stomp vs BBE Sonic Maximizer
I bought one purely because I'm going through a pedal buying phase and I have always sworn by the Sonic Maximizer VST plugin when working with audio files. I wouldn't say it makes a massive difference - hasn't for me yet, anyway - so I wouldn't get too hung up on it. The packaging is fantastic thoug...
Re: New Opeth
Quite like this. Not really aware of Opeth, where's a good place to start? I can recommend Lamentations. It's a live album consisting of 2 sets. The first is mainly based on Damnation, which is a clean set. The second has Deliverance and some other goodies and full of growling awesomeness. This sho...

Re: New SG won't/can't stay in tune
I just put in a new set of EB Regular Slinky's, and put some lead in the slots. It still goes out of tune after bends, but at least now it doesn't drop down after a few strums :x It was going out almost half a step before, but not so bad now. Will it gradually get better? (hope so, or else willow w...

Re: Plek guitar setup machine
Yeah. My Les Paul Standard came set up by a Plek machine and it's amazing. Perfect action right along the neck. Gibson are not the only ones who use the Plek machine, but it's definitely a plus point

Re: Interesting phase/vibe pedal shootout
I can only speak from my experience with my Fulltone Mini-Deja'Vibe 2 as JB says. You can see a good demo of it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HM_YkUItGZM It has a couple of modes on it: Chorus/Vibrato Vintage/Modern - has a more classic tone or else a cleaner modern one. It's true bypass, and...

Re: Amp/Pedals Suggestions
The only thing I don't like about the HT series is that only the HT-20 and HT-100 come in head models! Why the big gap! Is the HT-20 loud enough to gig with? I can confirm that it is loud enough to gig with. The band I was in did rock music (Guns n Roses, Alice in Chains etc). The other guitarist h...

Re: Pedal levels
I like to set my clean volume level first and then build from there. It depends on the circumstances. If you're adding overdrive and the rest of the band are playing louder, then you need to take that into consideration - maybe as previously mentioned with a slight increase as the gain goes up. Boos...
