Re: Thin washers for pedal footswitch

Take a plastic one in to Mitre 10 to measure up against what they have? I've tried Bunnings/Mitre 10 in the past but they don't have washers with large ID and smallish OD. Or at least, I haven't been able to find them there. Or why not just buy the ones from pedalpartsplus? I may end up doing this,...

Thin washers for pedal footswitch

Hi guys, I'm in the process of tidying up a few of my pedal builds and would like a handful of thin, smallish diameter metal washers for the footswitches to replace the ugly white plastic crap that comes with 3PDTs normally. Anyone have a few I can buy, or know of a good source in NZ? Something like...

Re: Gibson Firebird V!!

I recommend the Derek Trucks album, "Roadsongs", which includes a couple of cool covers (Get out of my life woman/Who Knows and Key to the highway).

Re: Great Strat!

I love my Mexican Strat. It's a '91 and sounds amazing. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CXHptdeVAAAJ9Wf.jpg I'm assuming there's a fault with the pickup wiring somewhere, because when I move the pickup selector into the middle position I get a nice bit of additional gain ~ really quite handy. It's like...

Re: Rick Toone Deconstructed Hollowbody

I think its pretty sweet. Fanned frets, classical-type headstock and check the fret marker 'dots' in the link. Interesting carve/radius in the cutaways to show off the plywood laminates (not something I would have done). Agree about the control layout, I think even having it horizontal like a tradit...

Re: Top wrappers unite!

I top wrap and enjoy the slinky feel. Top wrapping with 10s is very slinky though. I think I prefer it with 11s while tuned to E standard. Yes, the wound part of the string sometimes folds around the tailpiece so I need to try the ball end trick.

Re: Camera advice...

I agree with Sizzling on this. I moved to Fujifilm X-E2 and haven't looked back to my Canon 550D. The Fuji is much more portable and better image quality. The only slight downside is AF speed. I'd give those Sony A7s a go if I could afford one, but they are a little out of my budget at the moment. S...

Thoughts on the Lowrider, Cdog? Decent tracking? I really want an Octron, but thinking this might fit the bill.

Re: 6 coil pickups - home made

Great, unique looking pups! Would the staggered pole arrangement make it a little difficult to balance individual string output and tone? Or is the effect negligible?

Re: Burns Nu-Sonic Restore

I have a homemade winder... I can't promise to get them near the originals or even decent sounding, but it might be a fun (read: frustrating!) project. PM me if you like.
