Re: MikeC Sixty-One SRT
Sigh. I was just saying to Grant this morning that I'm putting great effort into ignoring this amp of yours....
Nothing personal but I have two EL84 amps already.

Re: MikeC Sixty-One SRT
Updates - SRT #7 sold yesterday and #8 is now under construction - it should be ready in 2 weeks or so. Miza has just finished a prototype Sixty-One SRT head cab which has a top vent and is 3cm taller than the cab I was using for a bit more reverb tank distance from the 50Hz hummy PT. And a 112 com...

Re: MikeC Sixty-One SRT
I was privileged to play Mike's SRT today. Reminded me of my old JMI 30/6 in the spongy compression and bloom. Not bright a modern Voxy, chewy and full like the old ones. Well done Mike. I must have one. Updates - SRT #7 sold yesterday and #8 is now under construction - it should be ready in 2 week...

Re: MikeC Sixty-One SRT
No and its a good point. I need a mic'd cab review. I might have to hit up Grant. These days my own playing just leaves me disappointed. There are certain people on this forum you should never comapre yourself to. Let me rephrase that. There's a lot of people on this forum you should never compare ...

Re: Jansen 6/sixteen demo
here is a good article. Doesnt explain why they used el84s but it does explain why they ceased doing so... most burst into flames https://www.vintageguitar.com/20584/fenders-6g9-tremolux/#:~:text=Revamped%20from%20the%206V6%2Dbased,and%20more%20valuable%20Fender%20amps%20%E2%80%93 But it was a fata...

Re: Jansen 6/sixteen demo
Im kinda blown away by it. The switch to the Jensen neo definitely took it from good to great. Jay (bless his clogs) is drawing the schematic as we speak. Will be interesting to see if it marries up to any known fenders Getting there... The phase invertor and power valve circuit section is almost i...

Re: Jansen 6/sixteen demo
Now here's a question for the amp builders:
Fender dropped EL84s because their curcuit cooked them. But a Fender circuit running EL 84s would be an interesting thing to hear.
How hard would it be to build the same circuit with lower plate voltages and would it retain its character?
Noob question.

It's amazing what an extra 4 watts can do for you.StrummersOfThunder wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2024 6:56 pm

I recall bruces being quite easy to push into drive. This behaves more like a big bottle amp. In a good way

Re: Jansen 6/sixteen demo
Little bit of recording this morning I put the jensen jet neo 100 into the jansen 6/sixteen and it suits it down to the ground. Made a little looper recording. Id also like to announce the first time ive successfully linked a you tube clip :congrats: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EnngfChISic That...

Re: Tremolux speaker shootout
After this test I loaded the v30 in the tremolux cab, got my spring reverb tank and some my clean boost/dirt pedal. Ive had the jensen alnico in there for years and once the thing starts to get loud it looses itself in compression and low end boom. The tremolux 6g9-a has a lot of bass on tap, and t...
