Re: Cable recommendations
Planet waves or Ernie ball seem to do the trick for me :-) All of my custom series Planet Waves are 20+ years old, heavy user and frequent traveller in most of their life. I’ve tried those super expensive Analysis Plus, I could easily hear the difference, but worth extra 1k for each cable? Your call.

Re: Midi Journey
Currently own bunches of midi switchers and rack program switchers. Among all those “pro”gears, there is one particular unit really shines in modern hardware game. Check out the Hotone AmperoControl. Cheap robust and programmable app via Bluetooth is so simple to navigate for a tech dinosaur like my...

R7 over 5k is a big no no to me, despite the raised market price in recent years.

Re: Best Auckland set up
Audio Zephyr He's opinionated, biased towards fenders and low action, gets grumpy when I ask him to raise the action, but... he does good fretwork LOL. Well, sorry, can't let this go.... The guy that bought my R9 put it in there for a set up. $300 later and a shitload of bullshit about 'unseated fr...

Re: Engl Amp?
Heathen's album, Control by Chaos, was recorded using the Engl Savage and that's a massive guitar tone. Good amps, but a pain to work on if the amp techs on YouTube are to be believed. Would LOVE a savage! Out of my price range though My savage120 smokes my entire high gain collection easily, it’s ...
Re: Engl Amp?
Long time Engl user here. Love every single Engl amps and they are really well priced at Music Planet. Cheap to expensive model, they all have that tasty Engl character. Epic metal machine, every single one of them. Buy Engl if you are searching for aggressive/tight/focused/harmonic rich/percussive ...

Re: Controlling a din footswitch via midi
I use voodoo switcher, it’s a TRS/midi converter switcher with the ability to write presets for your footswith to recall later. So in your case, you need a Din/TRS cable to get it to work with this switcher. All of my amps are all either TRS or Midi based, so I haven’t deal with Din Cable yet. Or ge...

Re: Seeing out 2020
2020 was surely my best year ever in my life so far. Meet several of my guitar heroes, received some surprising gifts from them too. Brought so many dream gears all year around. And most importantly, I am back into mountain biking after saving for a bike over the 16yrs. Couldn’t ask for better and l...
