Re: Les Paul Refinish Advice Please
Post spray, start sanding with say 800 grit until it's smooth. Then I go up to 1200 and then 2000. Then I go to 3000 and then 5000. Each sand is easier than the last. Finally, use car polish. The result is a flawless finish. Use wet and dry paper up to 2000, then at Wairau Paint buy two pads for sa...

Re: Les Paul Refinish Advice Please
Spraying is the easy part. Nitro goes on very thin and is touch dry within minutes. Once it's touch dry, spray again. Re: Les Paul Refinish Advice Please
If you're in a garage, wait for a sunny day with lower humidity before spraying, unless you can wait until better weather later in the year. This avoids nitro discolouring. I've sprayed nitro in a garage in winter without problems.

Maple tops don’t need grain filler.
I’d sand, in case the acetone melts the binding, or dribbles down onto the sides and back.

Re: That BF Super Reverb at Cadenza…..?
Oooo.... Intriguing! I know he used to have some pro looking photos of himself up on the wall behind the counter. I wonder if he wrote one absolutely awful number 1 hit ( that he'd never admit to) and still lives off the royalties?! It's possible. He's actually a monster player when he can be bothe...

Re: Eric Carmen Dead
Go All The Way was described as guitar riff by the Who, harmonies by the Beatles. A very legit musician from childhood who later wrote songs masterfully.

Re: Partscaster tele
Now that I've worked with quality poly and know how to put it on thinly, I'll never use nitro again because it isn't a tough finish.

The Romantics. Late 70s early 80s power pop, reverting back to two guitars, bass and drums with vocal harmonies like mid 60s Beatles etc., back before the complexities were introduced by psychodelia, as if the intervening 15 years had never happened, which I suppose was the point. https://www.youtub...

One morning you will wake up in your bed feeling pleasantly exhausted with the sun streaming down on a stratocaster lying next to you.StrummersOfThunder wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2024 9:53 pm Strat fact
the only reason there are so many stratocasters around is that they are simply too large to fit in a house hold blender.

Re: The Gibson Les Paul Model thread
Strummers will come around to strats big time any day now, without anyone having to perform an intervention and without a concussion or other head injury. That's my New Year's prediction.
