Re: MIJ Les Pauls that are desirable to attain
Tokai seems like a safe bet, I think my next guitar will be a strat tho', wonder if Rockshop will bring any Edwards ones in? Or you could, you know, buy a real Strat. I've owned a bunch of Ibanez, Burny and Yamaha LPs... all from the "lawsuit" and surrounding eras, and mostly nice enough ...

Re: Show us your amp
I wanted to try what a 10" and 12" would sound like together. The simple answer, at least in this case is, choice. Very 3D, the cab is very alive, plenty of woodiness. It's great with the high gain sound on the Matamp C7. I've found pine cabs can be too alive, but with the lower volume am...

Re: Solid state Amps
Billy Duff from the Cult uses a JC120 live into a 4x12, I believe sonic temple is mostly JC 120.
They are still expensive second hand If you can get them.
I am gassing again for fender red knob ss amps, all that 80 lush reverb.

Re: Solid state Amps
I managed to score a Fender Dynatouch 1600 for $230 from local auction site.
It's as big as my old twin and almost as loud. 2x12 and 160 watts.
I tried a few smaller SS amps and was heading tech21 until this appeared.

Solid state Amps
Anybody here gigging with SS amps like JC120 etc ??
Or is that just devil talk these days? I ran my pathfinder vox at a couple of acoustic gigs last year. But I need more horse power for electric. A JC might be what I need.

Re: 50 steps to better electric guitar tone
Here is my version of a wrap over. Its the Best way to set up a LP IMO. It make bends easier and less string breakage on the Bridge.
String Tension is a bit less.

Re: 50 steps to better electric guitar tone
Talking about the tail stop. You really don't want the strings to hit the back of the bridge so top wrapping allows you to crank the tail piece down on guitars that would other wise make the strings hit the back of the bridge. Its usually more of a problem on Nashville bridges which are wider but t...
