Re: New SG won't/can't stay in tune
I always use and prefer 10 gauge strings. EB Regular Slinky (sometimes Markley Blue Steel's). How I've always strung my guitar is two loops then in the hole (kind've like my cunnilingus). I tune up with the end of the string in pliers, pulling it tight. Is that retarded? I took this pic, which was h...

New SG won't/can't stay in tune
So I bought this new SG 61 Reissue.... The most important thing a guitar should do is stay in tune right? well, this guitar is a complete shocker. The G string just will not stay in tune, and the B string isn't much better. I've re wound it different ways, and it's a mary-go-round of failure. Is the...

I really liked that tune. It kinda reminded me of Bloc Party/Snow Patrol/late New Order sound.
I like the airy octopus cover also.

Re: Show us your amp
Louder than the low watt 1974x that's for sure :shock: The cab was older than I thought. The little messages adorning the inside are interesting: http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n640/pmada1/P1000915.jpg I'm happy with the speakers also, they suit the 57 classic pups in my SG: http://i1143.photob...

Re: Show us your amp
Picked up these today;
New (newish?) Marshall 1987X reissue, and a used early 90's JCM800 1960A:
When the warranty runs out I'll look at removing the c5 capacitor, or something similar to make it gain earlier.
Sounds great though.

Re: 2011 GAS
Marshall 1987X plexi RI, and a couple of Ipswich made V30's for my newly acquired JCM800 1960 cab.
And accurate tabs

Re: Experimenting with V30s and GT75 (sound clips)
Thanks, that would be very interesting. I'm thinking about a JVM410H, and I'm not sure what cab to use with it. 1960A or AV, or a older 1960 lead.... any recommendations? Sorry to go off topic. The Chinese vs UK comparison would be awesome if you get around to it.

Sorry to bring up an old post, but I was wondering if these were Chinese or UK made speakers? I like the v30 sound having just listened to your clips, much brighter.
