Re: Can a pedal ever sound as good as an amp channel?!

I've tended to find that getting pedals to sound good into a clean amp for medium/high gain rhythm guitar is difficult. I make that distinction because I find it's pretty easy to get a decent lead sound with a lot of different amp/pedal combinations. It's when I have to hear a pedal for a set full o...

Re: NGD - Gibson les paul custom

Nice!

I like the idea of those guitars a lot.

So they still sound like an LP despite the thinner body?

Re: semi hollow questions

I'd go by sound first. Do you want the sound of a 335? -if so, get a 335. If you want the sound of a semihollow Maton, get the Maton. Buying the custom Maton and expecting it to sound like a 335 is an excellent and slightly time-consuming way to lose 2K. But if you know you like the sound and wood c...

Re: Chicago: Not bad at guitar shops. MOAR PICS ON PG 4

Those Analogue Outfitters amps are beyond cool, love the use of old test equipment cases. Probably nowhere near my tastes sonically, but when they look that good, I don't think I'd care. Stick a Metal Zone in front and you're off... More seriously, I've had great results getting the heavy out of ve...

The whole place is one big warm snazzy cuddle up to the past. Even the 80s is barely represented, though they were playing Phil-era Genesis in the shop today.

I'm a bit disturbed reading this thread ... knowing most of you have your hand on your pecker at the same time :wtf: Even stranger still is your remarkable flaccidity when confronted with such eyefuckery as this. Sadly I probably won't make it to make'n'music, where they at least have some custom C...

Re: Chicago: Not bad at guitar shops.

Great pics, surprised they let you take them. I always wonder with a store like that if they are shop and warehouse at the same time... All those guitars hanging there... For how long? CME sells a lot of stuff -we're talking a much larger market with much more spending power than most places. And p...

Interesting -only one their site is coming up as used rather than vintage. A reissue?
