We practice in my mancave, which is pretty soundproof.

Re: Show us your whole setup....
Hi Darth, I think you may be remembering the You Rock YRG1 guitar, which I also have and use with this rig. It has raised rubber lines on the fretbaord, and the short set of strings, and is a bit more responsive than the casio. The casio has rubber strings all the way through, with velocity kind of ...

Casio DG20 into Alesis midi unit into Zoom B3, Maestro phaser, Marshall superbass , Marshall duo cabs. It is actually quite a versatile rig.

Re: Open Mikes..?
I do sound at an open mike night. You don't need to worry about edging out paid musicians. The club is only doing it on the quiet nights, and it seems like a win/win for everyone. I have had to watch way too many lame eagle covers, but there are great players too - seems to be one third of the playe...

Re: Vintage Superbass rig - will it harm speakers to play bass through them?
Well I got Weta guitars to install 12 inch bass speakers, and the cabs did not even need a port to be added. The rig with the superbass amp sounds wickedly crunchy, quite different from with my 2X 15 cab. I get to try it out at a gig on Friday .... http://www.eventfinda.co.nz/2015/stonehenge-xi2/wel...

Great idea about using a handle hole for a port. My techo designs and builds speaker cabs so they may have a view about where the port needs to go.

Re: Vintage Superbass rig - will it harm speakers to play bass through them?
I've spoken to my amp tech who can get 12 inch bass speakers that can go right in and install a port. They are birch ply cabinets. I figure that as a bass player With this the bins will get used, whereas won't get much use as guitar cabs. If it doesn't work I can swap the speakers Back. They don't n...

OK, thanks, that's what I thought. To be honest, I didnt think it would sound better, but it would look the business. I might think about changing the speakers to 12 inch bass speakers if I can find any.

Vintage Superbass rig - will it harm speakers to play bass through them?
Hi, I have a 1974 year Superbass head that I usually use with a 2 X 15 inch bass cabinet. However, I've recently acquired a couple of 1980s era Marshall 1936 2 X 12 cabinets. They sound quite nice matched to the Superbass with a guitar. Now I'm intrigued by whether I could play bass through this rig...

Re: Ranking Epiphone Guitars
The epiphone casinos are great. Fat tone and feedback. My one is from the nineties. These are guitars that stand up on their own, rather than copies of a more expensive deal.

Re: Anyone played a Martin Backpacker?
I have one, got off trademe. Agree that it is not a good choice for anything other than keeping your hand in when you can't get to a real guitar. has a thin banjo tone, and you need a strap as it is neck heavy and awkward otherwise. Much better than a toy though, and great for mucking about on. Chee...

Re: Show Us Your Guitar
yes, the casino is stock, except that the P90s were potted, ie, dipped in wax, as the feedback was mental when I first got it. that, and some foam in the f hole seems to have got the feedback under control.

Re: Show Us Your Guitar
Here's my Epiphone Casino, matched to a little Univox combo from the early 70s.
This guitar can generate some crazy vibrations when it gets the feedback going.
cheers
