Re: Ben's Acoustic Corner
Yeah I had a Cole Clark FL1AC that was brilliant plugged in but rather bland unplugged. Not particularly resonant. Glad someone said that. Every C.C. I've played has had bland looks and uninspiring sound; yet I know there is much love for them. If you're in Auckland there's a good one at the North ...

Re: Ben's Acoustic Corner
Apparently fences and decks are so last year..... Anyway, I've never introduced this one before. Australian redwood top, Tasmanian blackwood back and sides. Made by a friend in Riverhead. It's a Baritone and it's really light. Yes, that also means it's really loud. I dig the Depression era ...

Re: Ben's Acoustic Corner
I've found a company called JJB Electronics that do contact sensor pickups like K&K, but for significantly cheaper. Depending on how many sensors you want, they start at just $20 US, the recommended acoustic guitar one (three 15mm sensors) is only $50 US. Nearly half the price of the K&K at...

Re: TAYLOR GUITARS Roadshows
I attended a Taylor Roadshow and all I got was this... Happy T-shirt: http://i.imgur.com/pfGd4.jpg Nice to meet you Matt! It was a good time, Andy Lund is a great guy and everyone appeared to have got a lot out of it. I took videos with Andy's permission but they are pending his approval before I ca...

Re: New to guitars, need a little advice, can't decide
Yamaha is the only value for money guitar in that price range. They have good quality control, which is the biggest issue to worry about when you're spending less than $1,000.

Re: Snakes!!! no I mean GUITARS!! on a plane...
In the United broke my Taylor video Bob talks about how if you print out the airline regulations sometimes they allow for guitars to be taken on board so you can show it to the check-in counter. My experience is telling the Air NZ staff that it's a $4,000 guitar and that their chief baggage handler ...
