Re: Relish guitars files for bankruptcy

They probably should've stick to the alternative material niche instead of trying to branch into wooden guitars. Guys like Aristides and EGC are still thriving.

Or maybe being a wood/alternative material hybrid it appealed to neither crowds?

Re: Hi! Happy New Year, First Post and LPC question

I have 4 LPC's. 1979, 1990 and 2 Historics from the 2010's. I reckon the main specs to look into are: mahogany cap (50's reissues) VS maple cap (most of them) mahogany neck (most of them) VS maple neck (late 70's) I'm ok with richlite fretboard but resale can be tough. 70's are not worth what people...

Re: Return of the Gibbons shocker thread!

So this is interesting: https://www.mylespaul.com/threads/somebody-sued-epiphone-in-china-is-this-true.482965/ Basically, a guy bought an Epiphone inspired by Gibson LP, in China, looked under the hood and it didn't look like mahogany and maple. He sent the guitar to a lab where they confirmed the ...

Re: where have all the fancy amps gone

I went through hoops importing my "fancy" amps. So the readily available, mass produced stuff would have to go first when it's time for sale.

Out of the stuff I've actually played I'd say Bruno S100. I think it's basically the Dumble ODS circuit though.

Re: Nail

(and I am not a fan of metal /nu-metal whatever) I'll go out on a limb here.... These don't quite add up   Anyway I don't know any of the DS guys but I'm friends with a few people from various incarnations of 8FT. I'd say these bands know exactly what they're working with by now, and ar...

It is what it is, same goes for Shihad/8FT/Subtract/Sinate etc. People need their local inferior version of nu-metal bands and it's fair enough. They are all fun and entertaining as live bands.

Re: Marshall JTM Studio Series

These Studio series have really low plate voltage (~200V IIRC) so they are probably saggy enough in the first place even with SS rectifier.

That’d make it an 1974 though.

Re: NGD: MIJ Jazzmaster

I've got the specs for my JL telemaster bridge. You could get Glyn to wind you one. Infact, get him to wind two and Ill buy one as I need one for another JM I have. I actually have a spare Bareknuckle tele pickup which I can probably hide under the JM pickup cover? Might try that at some point when ...

Re: NGD: MIJ Jazzmaster

OK the Lollar basically did what I expected tone wise. But Lollar does RWRP for bridge pickup instead of neck. Now both pickups in the guitar are RWRP so I lost the mid position hum cancelling. I might put the stock bridge pickup in the neck position sometime later.
