Re: Do you remove the trem cover on your Strat?
I usually get rid of mine. I don't think my current strat has mounting holes, Eric Johnson style.

Re: Return of the Gibbons shocker thread!
The cool thing about buying old Gibson guitars is, they already made their margin, waaayyyy back. I’m waiting for them to announce you can only ever buy a lease to “own” a Gibson. And any future growth in the value of the asset is theirs to take their share from. "I can't sell you this guitar,...

Re: Gold Hardware restoring ?
That is what I thought too when I bought it . The previous owner said he had to do that to stop the bass strings touching the bridge ! It arrives tomorrow I can then see why . I usually top wrap my tune o matic style bridges like those bass strings, I don't think I've seen a mix of some top wrapped...

The '83? That's the guitar he used to record Money for Nothing which probably cranks up the value a whole lot.Aquila Rossa wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 3:08 pm The 1985 Les Paul going for almost as much as the 1959 one surprised me.

New Old Smelly Guitar Day! I mean just look at these two; tell me they don't belong together. :D Guitar was an impulse bid, 'that's a reasonable reserve' and here we are. It was described as playing well, (it does; I could jam with it as is). The frets are very small so that is what it is but actio...

I didn't realise they were back. With Matt as host too. The Alain Johannes hosted ones were good but didn't have the same vibe as when Matt is hosting. I've watched the Josh Homme episode so many times.

Re: Strap Locks for GLP Custom Black Beauty
I've got Schaller strap locks on most of my guitars and they work well. The new S-locks are good with their additional locking bits so they don't become loose on the strap, they also dont rattle like the old version. The only issue is the screw & strap button are one piece and the screw is thinn...

Re: Survey: How many effects pedals do you own?
I have a BSIAB and a Phase 90 for when I want to play some Van Halen type stuff with an amp, but I usually just use my Helix which is either 1 pedal or 100s.
