wanted: turret board/g10

Anyone got a stash of 3mm (or thereabouts) fibreglass board/g10 F-R4
Have some in various shopping baskets but as its pretty pricey I thought Id see if anyone was holding.
Thanks

Re: Tremolux speaker shootout

Link to an older clip.
This is the jensen alnico. At clean lounge levels with a vintage JM i have to admit it does what it does well...

Thanks
Yes, its a model thats been on the bucket list for a long time. Was a bit nervous buying sight unseen due to the pretty dicey variability in late 70s 335s but it would seem I got lucky

Re: Tremolux speaker shootout

After this test I loaded the v30 in the tremolux cab, got my spring reverb tank and some my clean boost/dirt pedal. Ive had the jensen alnico in there for years and once the thing starts to get loud it looses itself in compression and low end boom. The tremolux 6g9-a has a lot of bass on tap, and t...

Re: NGD 1979 Gibbon es-335

Class, nice to see something different from red and sunburst! The 70s are making a come back ! Picked up a village people style leather daddy outfit to go with it. Unforgiving in the guitar sauna I have to say but I’ll be ahead of the fashion curve I thought you had sufficient leather outfits alrea...

Re: Tremolux speaker shootout

So it would seem the preferred candidates are the Jensen alnico jet 100 and the celestion v30

I think a blind test with the genre and set up I’ll most likely use.

A/B with clean surf with reverb tank jazzmaster mid position + a little bit of bridge position boost with a hair of dirt

Ahh yeh. Sort of
The bridge pickup is the only one wired for it and it just sounds thin on its own. But mid position with coil tapped bridge it’s kinda nice

NGD 1979 Gibbon es-335

Well, the another one off the guitar bucket list.... belated entry 1979 Gibson es-335 walnut 45 years young. Appears to have spent much of that resting on a wall in Dunedin. Fresh from Grants re-fretorium shes playing and sounding beautiful. What to say: 1. Not a boat anchor 2. In very good conditio...

Re: Tremolux speaker shootout

You wanting this for gigs or home? Well a bit of both Bruce To be fair tho I’ve got some smaller amps so I’m mostly testing this for big live sound Righto. So mid forward is a desirable characteristic for this test then? After this test I loaded the v30 in the tremolux cab, got my spring reverb tan...

Yeo you are right about the JBL
Its niche, but when its in the right context its pretty special
