Re: What POD?

Haha, well, thanks for that. I didn't think they'd be so forthcoming.

Re: What POD?

You have shipping on top of that. I want $180 for mine. They don't come with a power supply but run off a standard Boss-type adaptor. Oops, should have mentioned, we're holidaying there in April, so no shipping, hence the plan to wait til then to buy. That's also why I wondered about using a power ...

Re: Trade-me Madness

I think it's about the 4th time they've listed it.. lowering the starting bid each time, but not if sure the reserve has also been lowered, and it's a touch too high, esp. in the current market me thinks. I gots one of these and it's very cool... the 120 even cooler.... Well I don't want to mess wi...

Re: What POD?

If you want a Pocket POD I'm selling mine. It's pretty new. Only selling cuz I bought BG's POD xt. I can get one for US$130, which is about NZ$165 at today's rate, plus I can potentially slide it past the wife with the old "Look what a bargain" routine. Plus it gives me til April to save ...

What POD?

So I'm thinking a POD might be in order. I'm leaning towards the Pocket POD as it's likely to be bedroom use in front of the amp more than anything. Is there any reason to splash the extra for a POD 2.0 instead? It would be that rather than the X3 due to the price. Also, if I buy the Pocket POD in t...

If you're in the market for an amp I've been led to believe you could do a lot worse than this...

I tend to use "marvellous", particularly at the checkout.

Re: Dean ML...case

Going through the same thing with my sister-in-law's ML shaped Karina. From what we looked at there are generic cases that are set up to take them, but you might have to order online from overseas or get the RS to bring one in for you. I think the coffin cases taper in at the wrong place, but I have...

Re: Amp vs effects

Kerry King says he needs to feel his nuts swaying in the breeze from his amps, or it's not loud enough. Or something like that.

Re: Riddle me this

Nice. The RS has the Iommi sig Epi's fpr about $1095 if I remember rightly. Makes them an attractive proposition, but I just didn't dig the SG feel for some reason.

Amp vs effects

So I'm determined to upgrade all my gear this year. Guitar is done now with my new Epi LP Studio. Now I need to decide what to do about the amp situation. I currently have a circa 1990 Marshall Valvestate 80. I bought it off a mate, but don't really know all that much about it. It's decent and loud,...

Riddle me this

I was under the impression that the Epi Iommi SG has the Gibson pups. I played a PRS Santana SE at the RS, then the Iommi, and it just sounded hotter. But when I mentioned it to the shop assistant, he told me that no way did it have the Gibson pups, just ones licensed by Gibson. So am I right? Does ...

Re: Amp Recommendations.....again

I'm GASing for a new amp. Played a Line 6 Spider 3 120 Modeling combo, and I liked it a lot. They're only US$399 at Guitar Centre - but I can't find out what they weigh. Anybody know? EDIT: Oops, I lie. It was the Valve 112 I was playing. US$699, but still not sure what they weigh. Are they the big...
