Re: Old violins sound better, apparently, and why
Is there some survivorship bias here? LIke I'm sure most/all Stradovarius' (or '59 Les Pauls or whatever) were good... but the really old ones are the really awesome ones which were awesome enough to hold on to and protect? (in other words, if you got a lemon of a '59 it'd just go to shit and be thr...

I have two!
A quilt maple LG-XT (solidbody electric with the Roland midi system built into it), and a Montreal Premiere (semi-hollowbody)
Very good quality kit

Re: HX users-poly capo question
It does use about 50% of one of the chips DSP. However, you can still squeeze a lot out of it if you have a full Helix (ie two chips). ie this is my live signal path: https://i.imgur.com/dsMklDC.jpg With this I do a whole set just with snapshots on teh same present. You can see I squeeze 3 amps on t...

Re: Me band has a new album!
Fuck yeah, so good! Hefty. Awesome use of space. I find it really hard to play reaally slow and stay that tight (and having seen you guys live, I know that's not just studio trickery...) Vinyl? :zomg: The secret, unfortunately, is a click track   Vinyl is not out of the realms of possibil...

Dude... hate to hear it. If you ever want to chat you've got my phone number (I think, if not just PM me on here) and I'm always down for a jam/muck around if you wanna. And yeah... band stuff is hard. It feels like a family dynamic so you feel a certain kind of way about saying your feelings... whe...

Me band has a new album!
Hey hey crew, My Melodic Funeral Doom band, Bleed This Earth, have just put out our second album - The Slow Decline. All "home studio" recorded - I'm all the rhythm guitars on my custom Archetype Guitars baritone into Helix Native, and all the leads are the other guitarist on a Strat of al...

Hol' up... I think you need to hear it yourself in both places before you make the call that its the power! Your Dad might just have a different opinion on what good tone is... or he used humbuckers and you have single coils, etc etcSmokingJoe wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 10:08 pm Ha. Re: Everybody wants to rule the world cover
Great song choice. Lucky band with three vocalists. I always wanted to do this song in this way. I'll let you in on a little secret - all four of us in the band share vocals, and none of us are keen to sing. It's just that we either can't find someone who can sing, or more often we've tried someone...
