I'm keen to see how this works for you. Was thinking of doing the same. Filling the cavity behind the frame and front insulation with pink stuff adds to the absorption. Apparently leaving it in the packaging works fine.

Yup same problem with the corners and bass buildup. More so at the back of the room. Volume of amps will have an effect. More sound more reflections and more buildup. Your idea if temporary gobos will help lots.

I totally feel your pain. Treatment is so important. You can never go wrong with bass trapping. Also diffusion can work wonders alongside absorption. Cheers! I like things neat. The EQ is a Pultec style built by the BBC for Radio NZ back in the 60's. Much mojo! Pretty standard stuff in the lunchbox but have all the right flavours.
