Re: Zero Frets: Why you not popular?
It went from relatively tasteless to embarrassing. I think I actually have something to contribute. On my first electric (basswood or maybe even mahogany, not sure), the nut was made of cheap plastic (I think) and just cracked into pieces one night. I took it to a luthier, and he made a brass nut. Re: Zero Frets: Why you not popular?
Only for first fret notes / chords. So theoritically not anymore than any other fret. Never used one, but wouldn't it always be resting against the zero fret, regardless of the fret you're playing? Just like how the string is always sitting in the nut no? That is the general idea, yes. Then it IS g...

Amazed. Proof yet again that a well made, high quality instrument can stand the test of time (and be brought back from the dead, which in this case, was a horrible, horrible wanna-be paint job).

Re: Getting Started?
Yeah I been reading, thats right, apparently mostly basswood, though it looks like they've had a run or two of plywood in there somewhere. Haha, apparently there is zero guarantee of consistency with these guitars, I was reading one article where someone he had models from sequential years, but noth...
