Re: Budget Mahogany small body cutaway acoustic?
I think there a bunch of solid top hog Tanglewoods in their slightly-smaller super folk size, and the cort GA5 range has cut-away - who knows if the mahogany top variant is in NZ but some of them also have the 1.75 nut. Cort also have parlor guitars in mahogany with a 1.75” nut, but no cut away. Cra...

Re: Cheap Strat opinions? Vintage V6 vs Squire

Re: Forums have been slow, how about a 'In the mail' thread?
Maybe a chemical cleaner of some sort would work. Worth thinking about. A set of strings can cost about $80 so it's a fair whack every time. I'm just glad I don't play double bass, they cost hundreds. I don’t think my double bass strings have ever been changed, and it’s getting on for 40… I hope to...

Re: DIY guitar stand ideas
I am in a similar situation. We will be moving into an apartment and will thus have very little storage space. I will most likely have to do away with bulky guitar cases and have since been looking at guitar racks as an option. For months this has been my preoccupation. I don't have wood working sk...

Tayda has a PCB for this as well, I’ve got one sitting in my maybe-later pile.

Re: Red cedar for guitar body?
Spanish cedar is closely related to mahogany (hence is good for classical necks), but smells like coniferous cedar.

There’s a Yamaha APX 600 on trade me at the moment, and the CSF1 sounded pretty nice too.

Form an agency with the other guys from your team and bill double. ;-) Was just about to say.. opportunity just knocked. Get the door! Had thought of that, but then we'd have to do every crazy fucking thing marketing came up with. However, they would have to wait 3 weeks for it so maybe they'd reth...

My Blackstar ID core’s power supply has died, so I’m thinking about turning it into a powered cab - has anyone had any luck with the little cheap Class D modules, based on TPA3116 or similar IC’s?

Re: which small amp to get?
There’s a bunch of Mannix-labelled Classic 5 amps kicking about too, with anonymous 8” speakers, but still sound good. I haven’t been alone in the house to turn mine much past half way for ages, but it still sounds good there. The dude I got mine from had the last four to make a radio transmitter be...
