Re: Les Paul Advice?

Gibson production at the Kalamazoo factory ended in '84 but there's nothing wrong with an early '90s LP at all! Get a trusted NZG'er with LP experience to try it out for you and let you know if it's a good one. Ed comes to mind Do this! I heard Ed was a bit of a wanker, tbh. That aside, feel ...

Re: Les Paul Advice?

For serials of that era, you take the first and 5th digits and that tells you the last 2 digits of the year. For example: 8xxx5... would be 1985 Thank you! I got the numbers wrong, So it's the Nashville factory. I read that the quality dipped when they moved factories. Are the early 90's still a go...

Re: Les Paul Advice?

The serial number say's it was made in the Kalamazoo factory but doesn't give a date.

What are the chances someone would do that for me? I don't want to get gazumped, would they charge me for the service?

Les Paul Advice?

Hi ya'll, So I think i've found my excalibur, THE one, my muse. It's an early 90's Les Paul in the colour and grain i've always wanted and i'm hoping to get it for my 30th this year. Ideally I would have loved an earlier one (86 is a vintage year :D ) but they're hard to come by unless I go to Londo...

Re: Custom wiring set up

Thanks,

These are epiphone pickups, does that make a difference?

I will probably swap them out eventually, any recommendations?

Custom wiring set up

Hi, I've acquired a Kramer Pacer which plays great but I'm used to strats and the controls are very different. It's an HH and has 3 knobs, 2 volume and 1 tone. It appears that the volume knobs control the pickups independently. I get how that can be helpful when switching between them you can pretty...

Re: Effects Pedal Hire Business Idea

again, im probably not your target audience but i could see myself using a rent to buy feature for a pedal like a strymon timeline and paying it off over a 3-4 month period at like $15 a week. but really, at that level, with no interest, whats in it for you?! .
as for renting, i could imagin...

Re: What are you gassing for?

I didn't realise Walrus Audio makes a power supply, there must be about a hundred power supplies now. I remember when you could get the MXR powerbrick or the Voodoo Labs Pedalpower . . .
Yeah, the phoenix is the big one but there's also a half size version that equally awesome. They're prett...

Finishing work/repair needed

Hi Ya'll, Can anyone recommend someone in the Hutt Valley/ Wellington region that can do resprays and guitar repairs? I've done a few myself in the past but would like a pro for this job. I've got a 1986 Kramer Focus that has had repairs on the headstock in the past (the whole top part has been repl...
