Re: Jansen bassman 50 (black panel)
Can’t help on leads to the gear nowadays. But growing up in the 90s, mates in our neighbourhood band had a Jansen 50 with a quad box from their uncle. Man it was great. I think they’ve still got it along with a Fender BF Bassman 50.

Re: NGD & N(ish)GD
Best Tele ever. And since Teles are the best guitars ever… They look great, neck is fantastic, pickups are pure rockin’ in the bridge and singin’ in the neck. Only thing is that Fender roadworn relic which is a bit naff. But in the end love that I don’t have to baby it and any new scratches are rel...

Re: NGD: Travis Bean TB1000S
Someone's got a 70s Kramer TB style guitar (Kramer worked for TB) on the vintage guitar and gear NZ FB page for $1300. That seems like a steal to me, someone should get it. Yeah, I see these pickups on Reverb in NZ$. https://i.ibb.co/7VYMVGY/IMG-5170.png And there’s 450G versions for around NZ$4K.

Re: Detune pedal?
I had a Digi Drop. Sounded too artificial and processed to my ears. Got it as I enjoy playing some stuff a couple of steps down like Kyuss and it’s a ballache tuning down and up. Sold it for a couple of hundred a couple of years back. Buyer may have got a deal now they’re discontinued. But I didn’t ...

Re: Insecure Delusion (TOOL tribute) - The Cabana, May 4th
Hope ot all went well. Looked fun. I saw a great May 4th gig in Wellington 10 years ago. Some underground club (literally) called Bubbles or some such. Had another name I've forgotten. Featured Adam Page & The Death Stars. Page (Boba Feat) is an interesting multi instrumentalist from Australia h...

You'd be very happy with that as a first attempt. I imagine it's a damn difficult thing to do.

Re: Gear Quests!
I'm sorry for your loss. I've been pretty philosophical about it. No point getting too down about it. Already eyeing up adding 3 guitars to fill the void. Small world. I used to live in Billings, MT. Didn’t make it past the very western coast myself. My client lives in a tiny place ca...

Re: Gear Quests!
I've just had one fall over. Jan '65 Jazzmaster. and for a great price. Had the seller in Utah convinced to ship to Montana, to a client of mine who lives 2 months of the year in lower SI NZ. He's a guitar guy and has worked in timber CNC's supplying gear and setting up factories for Taylor and Gibs...
