Re: Tonerider Pickups
I chucked some Tonerider City Limits in my MIA strat about a year or more ago and they are good pickups - heaps better than the standard Fender ones that were in it. The bridge pu in particular is quite hot with a really tele sorta bite.

Re: Transformer Suppliers
Thanks guys. Yeah sort of forgot the rectified voltage climbs a fair bit so a 250 - 0 - 250 would probably be the ticket. I want to feed the EL34 around the 300 + a tad mark and intend to use diode rectifiers and 5w resistors for the voltage drops. Thanks for the contact details - I will figure out ...

Re: Transformer Suppliers
I am seriously thinking of building a EL34 based SE amp and would be looking at 10-15W OT with either a 5k primary or one of the multi primaries like the Hammonds and multi tap secondary 4,8,16 ohm. I am still figuring out the size of the PT but would want a 300 - 350V secondary either a straight wi...

Need a Tech in Chch
Bought a new (to me) maton mastersound 2000 and it made me realise how bad my old (1970's) Maton JB6 sounds. The D string has this awful vibration that seems to eminate from the tuno-matic bridge and the A string is going the same way - I'm guessing the tuno-matic is worn out? It has a zero fret wit...

Re: What are you gassing for?
A really nice telecaster. Another really nice telecaster with a Seth Lover type pick-up in the neck. A Fender tweed champ (head) kit I can build. A 2X12 cab with good quality, low wattage, speakers in it. The brain to finger connections of Jimi Hendrix (I figure the brain itself would be a tad overc...

I'm going to see if I can live with them a bit first and see how I go. But I'll let the forum know when I'm removing them.

Re: legalised government theft of a guitar
Some perspective here. All the dumb ass for not paying your fines etc., stuff to one side. Scenario #1.The fucking government walks in to your tee pee and lifts your $6.00 guitar to cover $900.00 of unpaid fines while you are not there! Cut to scenario #2. A Christchurch girl racer with $25000.00 w...
