Re: Les Paul Refinish Advice Please

Wairau Paint Centre will tint nitro and put it in a rattle can. Sit the can in a bowl of warm water before spraying.

Re: Swapping different fretted necks on a Start

You beat me to it... discovered this with my 22 fret Warmoth neck and AliExpress pickguard. It's generally n...

Ali Express Strat Pickguards

Anyone tried/found an Ali source for Strat pickguards that match vintage 11 hole spec - shape, holes in the right place etc? Haven’t had much luck over the years - every time I buy cheap, shit’s wrong. My reference for “right” is the Warmoth and Stew Mac offerings. Even though they’re ever so slight...

Ivan T at musicelectronicsrepair.co.nz

Some people find him a little direct. I like that he’s honest, straight to the point, and is qualified/more than happy to work on the tricky stuff. He’s fixed problems for me that others couldn’t. It’s his side hustle, so you may need to be patient.

Re: Tone pot taper?

The old centralabs were about a 10% taper, they used them for volume and tone, and they sound great. 50’s wiring of course.

I saw a bunch of Vemuran pedals in the flesh here yesterday, price still eye watering, but not as much as the 1968 gold top at $47k…
'68? Tell 'em he's dreaming.
They had an ex Clapton vintage gold top in a glass case too, not for sale…
Where did you been?

My question is, what on earth are you doing that requires that much amp?
Downsizing.

Obviously.

Re: That BF Super Reverb at Cadenza…..?

There’s a ‘64 Blackface Super Reverb at Cadenza. It’s been there for years. And years. Does anyone know anything about it? Interesting. Reckon it's an export model? Can't be too many floating around. Nah, it’s US. Has a step-down in the back. It doesn’t have a price on it, but the price has changed...
