Re: Jackson Japan Vs. Jackson Stars..
As far as I know, all Jacksons made in Japan are made at the Chushin Gakki factory. As slash-ed has said, the main attraction is the fact that they offer higher spec instruments for cheaper prices than the import (and USA obviously) counterparts. DLS, Timmy, Diamond.
DLS from what I've heard is pretty much a RAT but huger sounding, Timmy sounds awesome. Diamond because its does all the rest and because I've had and wasn't overally crazy about the J&H.

Exactly...its almost a PC list, that person has to be there or people will get offended. I mean Johnny Ramone? Next thing Kurt Cobain will be regarded as a virtuoso...Pakehendrix wrote: I think this list is more about "guitarists who inspired kids to play guitar".

The Sceptre is perhaps the only one that isn't designed ridiculously out of proportion.

Re: Guitar as carry on luggage?
I brought back a Jackson Kelly on the plane from Japan. It just depends on the amount of luggage the other passengers have. Just ask politely.

Re: Wellington Gearfest - June ?
It was about time I turned up at one of these gearfests. Nice to be some faces to the names. Spent most of my time in the pointy department. Didn't want to show how tasteless my playing is with a clean tone of sorts  Rob's guitars are freaken sweeet. That ESP is drool material. And yea I guess ...

Nevermore Year of the Voyager
I got home to find the parcel on my desk. Still going through everything...assignment due tomorrow doesnt really help. But after an hour or so, my conclusion... 1. Decent sound quality, listening through headphones so can't really say. However, playing-wise and vocals very close to original on album...
