Re: The Acoustic Thread

What I have generally found is that if the guitar is 3 of these things they are generally pretty good:
1; Old
2: Well played
3: Made is the US

Exceptions everywhere of course as I once had a Peavey (made by Landola) that was a great sounding guitar. Met the first 2 criteria though...

The Band's singer has a Martin acoustic. He bought it over 15 years ago and has hammered it ever since. It's one of those cheapies with a solid top, nato back and sides and a laminate neck so rigid it could be used as a crane boom. It's now starting to show a lifetime of hard work and recently I've...

Re: The Acoustic Thread

That Ibanez guitar sounds absolutely terrible. Really thin and trebly, almost no sustain. I suppose it suits this style of playing & music well as it is easy to get it over the top of the mix. And playing that fast, you need attack & not sustain. Here's something entirely opposite: [youtube...

Re: Badlands Guitar Company

I dont think I am in their target demographic but even if I were, why would I not just hunt out an original Kramer, Hamer, Guild, Ibanez or Schecter or whatever ? But i loved all the marketing speak in the most droll unexcited voiceover ever.....

Re: Gear auction today

Am in the process of doing this here. So far have a car gone and about 1000 or so from my vinyl collection (want to get down to about 5000, so its not a complete sell off yet). Guitars will be next year as im sure I dont need 8 or 3 amps to be honest. Also started on the Hifi collection and was thri...
