Re: Marillion • An Hour Before It’s Dark

Three listens in and I'm really enjoying it. It will take several more listens to settle into it all though - lots of complexity here.

Re: Guitar dispute, anyone got a lawyer friend?

Just My two cents. To get a result from disputes tribunal you would almost certainly have to prove deliberate deception, which I think you'd struggle with here. Arguing subjective terms like "playable" won't really help, it means different things to different people. And it's not reasonabl...

Re: Best albums of 2021

I think I read somewhere that if you've pre-ordered you will be able to download mp3s from release day. Haven't seen Rothery's book - will look into that. I think I remember reading that too. Yeah the book is good, it's a photographic history right back from the early day of Marillion through to th...

Re: Best albums of 2021

I'm a big Rothery fan too - I've been following Marillion since before they got their first record deal. Oh wow, same! I started with all their early albums but now I’m firmly in the Hogarth camp. Their upcoming album is being talked up as their finest work ever and Rothers is reportedly back on tr...

Ray Wilson's The Weight of Man gets my vote. A stunning album, and Ali Ferguson's guitar work will please any Dave Gilmour fans.

No, that's just a standard Wednesday evening. With fractionally fewer pictures of toes. As you were.
I never could get the hang of Wednesdays
A bit more from Douglas Adams and you'll fit right in.
Oh I can quote Adams for days....

JB, stop repressing it! Gosh I clearly triggered a whole mess of nonsense with my premature mention of possibly selling something..... My apologies, I promise to stay in my newbie box from now on..... No, that's just a standard Wednesday evening. With fractionally fewer pictures of toes. As you wer...

Yes it is enforced. Please don't post about sales until you hit that figure. New members earn trust. Else you could be any scammer, old member. No offence. Understood, and no offense taken. Unless you have a friend here who is a member that can vouch for you :) Not that I know of, but I bet there a...

20220223_133403.jpg G&L Superhawk (Tribute) Jerry Cantrell signature just landed on my bench. I bought this secondhand, and the previous owner had installed a set of Fishman Fluence Open Core Classics. I'm taking the Fluences out (they're nice, but I'm not a fan of active pups), and installing ...

Re: Line 6 Catalyst - Katana Killah???

Having listened to a couple of demos and compared the specs on the 100 watt versions I'm not convinced the Catalyst stacks up against the Katana. I'm a long time Line6 user - current rig is a Helix Floor and a couple of Variaxes - so I'm definitely not just hating on Line6 here. The two amps both so...

Re: What are you gassing for?

Hit the nail on the head there I think. I am 100% the weak link in my signal chain  I feel fortunate to be able to play the gear I have, it's all for fun at the end of the day and for me Fractal is the most intuitive and sounds awesome. They all do at this point. This. I have been the weakest ...

Re: Artist Guitars?

I have an Artist strat - one of the nicer ones, an ST62. Nice guitar, good value. I changed the pickups, but only because I wanted to go HSS. Bridge is decent, big trem block, locking tuners are good, neck is comfortable. I've had a couple of the bullbucker-equipped teles in for setup. They are also...
