Thanks Kris, I think I might have to try one out first.
Yeah, I think you're right about the Dual Dark. It was $1799 at the first two stores I looked at. Then found another where is was $2600 and another at $3100

Re: How loud are the 15w Orange Terror amps?
Cool, I think I might be sold... if I can find one.
On a slightly different topic, does anyone know what's up with the Dual Dark pricing in NZ? $3800 at the RS, $4200 at MusicWorks. They are around $1799 in Australia. The Terrors are a little more expensive here but that difference seems ridiculous!

Yeah, I used to have Mesa DC5 and it was heavy... still not as heavy as my 2x12 cabinet though!

Ha, part of the idea of getting one was downsizing, and not having to lug heavy gear up multiple flights of stairs!null_pointer wrote:A quad'll sort your drummer out if it comes to that :p

Re: How loud are the 15w Orange Terror amps?
Cool, the clean headroom wouldn't be an issue... the drummer possibly! I play in a punk/metal band but we're not incredibly loud

How loud are the 15w Orange Terror amps?
I've been thinking for a while of getting a Dark Terror or a Tiny Terror but I really can't seem to get a gauge on how loud they are> Some people say easily loud enough for practice and gig-able if miked and others say they really struggle. Can anyone tell me their experience?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: A fully Pedalboard based Amp setup?
Yeah, to me it looks cheap and plasticy. Plus the logo looks like something someone came up with using Microsoft office.

Re: A fully Pedalboard based Amp setup?
Wow, that Amp1 seems amazing! A bit of a shame about the way it looks but the performance seems incredible!

A fully Pedalboard based Amp setup?
I've sort of been wondering about this for a while - some sort of preamp (amplifire maybe) into something like a Magnum 44 or maybe a Quilter Tone Block?
Anyone had similar thoughts or tried anything?

Indeed! I hadn't realised beforehand that the Squire VM's are finished in polyester and not polyurethane.Bg wrote:not all poly is created equal

Re: Anyone removed a poly finish before?
Thanks guys! Now I just have to fill some of the old pickguard screw holes (new ones don't quite line up) and find somewhere that can print waterslide decals in white! Good luck with yours Molly! Getting my finish off turned out to be a bit of a nightmare. I tried a hair dryer, a heat gun, and poly ...

Celestion retailer in NZ?
I know Ryan used to sell them but now he seems to have gone to ground, is there anyone else in NZ selling them?

Damn, that sounds great, unfortunately I already finished my job but it's a great tip for anyone else!
