Re: Non-powered full frequency full response speakers
I have a pair of 200w Celestion 12" FRFR speakers on their way from the UK. https://celestion.com/product/200/f12x200/ I probably wont need both. I'm not sure what you have planned regarding cabinets for these but you might be interested to know that I built a couple of cabs to the specs recom...

Depends what you're after. There are many areas where the Kemper falls short of the Helix.KNNZ wrote:A Helix to replace a Kemper? Definitely no way

Re: Line6 Heeeeeelix!
Just got hold of a Helix. I was hoping that I would be happy enough with it that it could replace my Kemper... but no. The Helix with the Kemper in 4CM works great though! The first thing I noticed which bugged me is that the gain staging on all the default settings for the amps is way too hot, resu...

Re: My first build.
Where are you getting your wood from, thats got some awesome figuring! There's a guy on TradeMe who sells veneers. I bought some off him and happened to ask whether he knew a good supplier of some thicker chunks of maple. He happened to have some for a reasonable price so a bought a few metres. Act...

Re: My first build.
Did you stain the maple darker? It kinda looks like flamed walnut, which ain't no bad thing. Yeah, I ended up staining it darker. Something I learnt is that the more you sand and work on maple, the less the grain wants to pop. Wetting it helps to raise the grain, but even after doing that, I couldn...

Nah it's not flat... I wanted a carved top of sorts but I was limited by the thickness of the timber I had.Bg wrote:That is hot, but the front is messing with my brain... Its not flat, I'd love to see the profile to make sure its how I see it!

Re: My first build.
Finished this a while ago but haven't got around to taking any pics until now. 5pm inside on a winter's day isn't ideal (a photographer I'm not!), but oh well...
Really pleased with how it ended up. Learnt a lot along the way.
