Very cool, I'm surprised you used an LP though, sounds very strat-esq. Awesome bluesy bite to your tone though.

Oh I wish I could go next, damn that useless brother of mine...

Gah, this seems like fun. But I suck at recording. Is there anyway that I could just mentally wish this to happen and my soundclip will be on the file? Well I'm currently mentally wishing my brother to get off his fat lazy backside and send me his old Pod so I can join in... if I get any results I'...

paint it with unicorns and fairies :) very metal raaawk! Although I find both unicons and fairies both very difficult to work with, both having short attention spans would make trying to get them to help you paint your guitar a tiring process.... Unless you try actually painting the guita...

Cool man, thanks for the info. The Thunderchief appeals (playing Van Halen on the soundclip helped sell me :D ), as does the Rat. Might look into this in the near future. The interesting thing about the Thunderchief is it's going into a 5150 combo... but sounds waaay better than the 5150 does on it...

and have just spent the last 1/2 hour talking up your guitar-playing history You'll learn with time that it is far better to keep your mouth shut and just nod sagely. Let the assistant do all the talking. If they ask, tell them you've thought about taking up guitar, but you're not sure - it looks h...

Actually the 1234 chromatic exercise (cool, I have a proper name for them now, cheers Ed!) was sold to me not so much as co-ordination but as being good for finger strength. But you're right, it does help with co-ordination and you can then use the 123 exercise variation to work on your picking speed.

Here are my exercises if anyone's interested. If I'm really trying to give myself a workout, I'll vary the patterns, play them backwards etc. Hopefully I'll be clear enough in what I'm trying to say... ------------------------------1234------------------------------------------- --------------------...

Getting in "the zone" for playing is something most strive for. I would be interested to hear of any tricks guitarists use to do it. I find its something that comes easier when playing with a good drummer. I have some simple exercises that I use to warm up first, they help considerably, b...

It happens all the time. Particularly bad when it happens during a jam session :D Or when you're in a music shop and have just spent the last 1/2 hour talking up your guitar-playing history, when the guy in the shop hands you a guitar to try out, plugs you into their best amp and you know he's wait...

Good days and bad days...

Anyone else get this? Ok if you're hung over, sick, knackered, grumpy or the like then you're going to play worse than if you are not any of the previous, but I'm talking about the fact that some days my fingers can fair fly over the fretboard, every note sweetly picked with perfect timing and clari...

So true, mate. We all claim to be hip and enlightened, but in the end, we tend to go for the traditional Strat, Tele, LP, SG, or PRS shapes and colours. We're a constant source of annoyance for forward-thinking guitar builders... I notice the Parker Fly isn't in your list, most likely won't be in t...

Nah don't count me as a tentative, I'll definitely get an XL... (if you've replied to my e-mail it'll have to wait until tomorrow, used my work one for some daft reason...)

Actually, despite what I said in the Bare Knuckle thread, I think I'll go for an L500XL... I'll still get a matched set of BKs at some point, but I'd like to try an XL in my Ibanez first, as they're such a good price....
