I preferred the sound of my FM3 through poweramp and cab but not as much through FOH.
Kemper is the other way around for me, prefer through FOH but not so much through cab. IRs are important.. my faves are York Audio.
Surely Niks rig is cool enough to give you a fair idea how fantastic Fractal is

Re: Explain me Kemper
My money is they're not working on anything new. Can't get much better than what they've already done anyway. Improvements if any, will come in the way of algorithms/updates etc
And yeah. Lifetime warranty with all Kempers. Ya just gotta send it to Germany at your cost.

But honestly, EIMs is the answer imo.

Re: Explain me Kemper
A little bit but but not at very high volume. It sounded a bit flat through a Powerstage 200. I've just got used to the fact that it's not an amp in the room solution for me and I'm fine with that. If you can try one out through your cab before you buy that would be the answer. Plenty of people thin...

Re: Explain me Kemper
Bought mine a few months back. I love it. I only use it for the cover band I'm in straight to PA with IEMs for monitoring. Best FOH sound I've ever had, even over load box and FM3. - Don't get caught up in the great profile search. If you're serious, spend some money on Michael Britt presets or simi...

So what's involved in the capturing process if you don't own the capture/d.i box?

Re: Mongrel cab
Shit yeah I agree. I will keep lifting quads into venues until I'm dead. They just sound better. I'm thankful that the regular venue I play has backline of two worn/low-tier but decent-sounding Marshall cabs that still deliver. In testing out the new quad at practise the other night, I'm reminded o...

Re: Mongrel cab
Recently acquired a pretty mongrel quad in a Trademe deal First time with a 4x12 having run single 12 cabs since forever Ideally would have a nice vertical 2x12 but when the quad was only $100 bucks I couldn’t help myself Arguable as to whether the speakers are an improvement but to my ear there is...

Re: PG Spark users thread
Yeah. Recorded sounds are ok with it. But you will get better results with an interface and something like a Neural or Amplitube plug in.

Re: PG Spark users thread
I had a couple. Like BG said, good for noodling, sounds better through headphones than the speakers, pretty loud if you need it to be.
I used to use mine Bluetoothd to my phone to play along to cover songs I needed to learn for my band.

Re: The Kemper Thread
Still have my Kemper Stage. Still haven't really grown as accustomed to the UX as I had with my AX8. It's here to stay though, happy with all the things I need from it. Either that, or I just can't be arsed learning new UX/UI. Low gain/edge of breakup is where I live too, either something tweedy, o...
