Re: Stacking Overdrives - Do you do it?

Timmy is a good stacker, I built one with a Clark Gainster in one box and they work perfectly together. I’m partial to a Blues Breaker style pedal stacking with most other low gains as well. Re: Hiwatt vs Marshall

If memory serves correct the 40W HiWatt had a beaut chime to it ( el84 ) - combo. The Marshalls JMPs and 800s were awesome too. I guess you can coax most things from a good amp but I found the HiWatt had a great clean platform which cut through the mix well.

Re: Marshall Amplification - their greatest year

I noticed after having a couple of 800s and a late jmp ( 87 I think which was an early 800) they all sounded a little different to each other but all hard to get over 1 in volume.

Seeing that pic with chrome ware next to that shiny HB looks right at home especially with the pick guard - black not so much

Re: What do you guys consider as "heavy" strat??

The one I remember being very heavy was a 1975 Stratocaster. I don’t know the weight but I’m sure it would have been well over 4kilo. The 1972 one I have now is 3.6kilo and is manageable.

Re: Wanting a P90 Pickup.

Sorry about delay - been under the weather. The P90 is a HB sized covered P90 called a Mississippi queen from bare knuckle. Also have a black dog HB. Bought them off airdad some time ago but never used them as moved the guitar on they were destined for- usual story.
