Re: What are you loving right now?

Definitely no bad thing - they do a great cover of White Men too, which strengthens the comparison.

I don't know any of them - or anyone else famous come to think of it.

Amp, Guitar and Pedal Building Resource

Found this site while looking for amp building info, http://www.guitarkitbuilder.com. Looks to have some good stuff including tutorials on various things like making an amp cab, making a turret board etc as well as some reviews on kits and gear

Re: The Black River Drive thread.

Great track, nice to hear you've released this one as a single - I really dug this when you gave us a preview on here a few months back. Your best track so far (IMO, JM2C, YMMV etc.)

Re: Pistol Youth

Awesome song - have had it on frequent play on the mp3 player for the past few weeks. You can hear the whole album at http://pistolyouth.bandcamp.com/.

They also did a great acoustic version of Flo Rider's Low for The Rock's Channel Z Nights acoustic slot.

Re: Cold Chisel - Flame Trees

Here you go, though Rocky's posts pretty much cover it chord and lyric wise. PDF scan with chords, melody line, bass and lyrics. Flame Trees PDF. It's got Forever Now in there too as I got carried away with scanning.

Re: Cold Chisel - Flame Trees

Great song. I've got an "authorised" chord chart around somewhere for this (and a couple of other Chisel classics), must dig it out. Ian Moss is the man.

Re: Playing metal

... You can get some software for your PC and Mac for free I think that allows you to play back an mp3 slowed down (or speeded up) without changing the temp. Usually the same program also allows you to change the pitch of a song which is great if the original recording is tuned down half a step and...

Re: Playing metal

I posted this a while ago and it might be of some use to you Hamo, http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/newbay/ ... ar_201006/. Seems to have some of the basics covered like arpeggios, scales etc. I don't play metal though, so apologies if it's not relevant

Re: how to make your own PCBs

I've found spraying the paper lightly with water just before the ironing helps with the iron process - not soaked just damp. ComputerWorld mag or Dell brochures work well too, but a bit heavier than the Music Works flyers. Something else to try.

Re: Strat Setup/Fretwork

Or DIY, screw it up and hey presto! Instant excuse to buy a new Strat. Yeah, though being Hamo'ed without Hamo's Mrs will inevitably stop that. There's a new place in Featherston I've heard good things about, it's on the main drag. I think the dude's name is Warren. Probably worth a look, apparentl...
