Re: Effect of changing room temperature on guitars - at home?
Thanks team. I am mostly concerned about possible body damage like warping etc, particularly on the hollow and semi-hollow bodies. Some are tuned to Open D and Open G. I'll tune down half a step for standard.
@vinylguy: what kind of advice is that?!! Do you even belong here?

Effect of changing room temperature on guitars - at home?
My guitars are not out at the moment and don't get touched as a result. Which is not good for me. If I had them in the living room then they are more likely to get picked up, even for an unamplified strum. The thing is the living room temperature can fluctuate a lot in a 24 hour period. Overnight it...

Re: Gear That Everybody Seems To Love But You Don't
I’m with you on the cars. I derive unwarranted pleasure from operating controls without diverting eyes and knowing the task is done. It has the added bonus of reducing the odds of killing yourself or others. I fail to see the difference between operating a car touch screen (legal) and a phone (ille...

Re: What are you gassing for?
Mr Music has new lakland bass stock and they're so close to my house I can almost touch them... but as I've not plugged anything in here so far, it'll need to wait! and yet.... I think you've already waited long enough just to get to Nelson. Anymore waiting would be excessive consumption of waiting...

Re: Bassists - Great Tone
Allen Woody - Gov't Mule and Allman Brothers Band. His intro to Don't Step on the Grass, Sam from the Live at Roseland cd is fabulous. Apparently his bass feed on the multitrack was distorted and unusable so they used the bass vocal mic which was picking up the amp and just compressed that heavily....

Dave Pomeroy - Fretless Bass on David Munyon's Code Name: Jumper album. Such a cool sound. Great songs and an excellent band including Warren Haynes (Allman Brothers Band, Gov't Mule) on guitar.

Doggy stuff market Upper Hutt Sunday 28 May 2023
Not a music gig but my gig today for my Bark Busters Home Dog Training. It's a really nice day for it so come on down and introduce yourself.
Lots of dog toys, treats and other stuff to look at.

Re: I blame the Rockshop for my impending divorce
Hnnggg Congrats. What burst is that? Dark burst? Southern fade? They make so many that are so similar. Nice checking too 👍 Southern Fade. They got the Factory Burst one in for me from Queenstown to compare. Both played wonderfully, but this one won out slightly on feel and pickup dynamics. And the ...

Re: Gear That Everybody Seems To Love But You Don't
Not sure Bagpipes, Mandolins, or Ukeleles qualify for Gear that everybody seems to love. Yeah not seeing much bagpipe GAS here. I've seen a worrying amount of mandolin content though. I'm waiting for Reg to come up with a guitar to bagpipe translator box...now you too can completely fuck up your ne...
