Mac for basic garageband-ing

Setting up a very low key workstation at home for admin, a bit of web work and some recording via helix or jamhub. Mega limited budget. Would this have the guts to run up to 8 channels of audio and that nifty garageband auto-drummer...? http://www.trademe.co.nz/computers/desktops/apple-desktops/auct...

Re: NWTFOMGLOLJBPD HD500X Thread

How are you finding the L2 in the band context? Plenty loud enough w/ good (relative) low end?

So much GAS. Esp for the bag haha.

This is how I set it all up.

Speaker Cab mic'd out the back room with a long speaker cable from the head to the cab.

Helix switching channels on the head.

Sounded amazing
What kind of board is it on?

Re: NGD: many things

Weird. My Helix updates (have done 2 now) with zero drama.

Such a cool piece of gear. Absolutely loving mine.

Re: Line6 L2M vs L3M

I read somewhere (TGP, i think... so grain of salt etc) that the 2nd speaker on the L3M/T is basically dedicated to lower frequencies anyway. So not much additional use to anyone unless extended range or bass applications are a consideration. Now if only i could shift my tremoverb i might actually b...

Re: NWTFOMGLOLJBPD HD500X Thread

Thats a great result. We're looking at using a jamhub (w/ my helix, a vetta, and a bass flyrig) for writing. Just need half decent eDrums now. What kind is your drummer using?

Re: Show us your pedalboard

a) get it off the ground, for various OCD/protection measures b) usually there's another device (tuner, wireless, etc) factored in. c) typically these boards come with good cases. i'm thinking about doing the same with the Helix at some point, but god only knows how i'd get it on a pedaltrain given ...

Re: Line6 Heeeeeelix!

Most of the review videos of the helix are really average. The vs kemper video was a huge plus for the kemper. Yes i'd agree. I have a lot of beef with that vid, on the premise that the Kemper profiles were "pro studio" downloads, but the helix IRs were stock, and in fairness could have a...

Re: Line6 Heeeeeelix!

I'm still ironing out whether to go L2M or L3M, but after 2 weeks through my HD-25 Mk1 headphones, Helix is the fucking bollocks! Fizzing to get it to band practice.

Re: Line6 Heeeeeelix!

To be honest, why on earth wouldn't you use pro IRs to your own spec? No brainer that if that's available you'll use it. Kinda like buying a smart phone and never using the appstore, it's madness to restrict yourself to what comes as default. Outsourcing saves time at line6 for modelling other thing...
