I'm not quite sure of the ghist of your post Henderson, but no I am not implying anything re: sound quailty of the forementioned brands, just a refelection on what people are gigging with.

The Bootsy Album is Zillatron, "Lord of the Harvest".

Came out on Bill Laswell's Black Arc Label, which I'm well impressed with.

I'm not entirely convinced that this Album is "songs"but there sure is equal amounts of silliness and serious grooves/playing.

Yeah, no-one lives in a vacuum,but I do think there is a difference between influence and wholesale taking. Still each to his own. Why listen to Mark King when Stanley Clarke is around?

The only other "style borrowing" I can think of to such an extant would be the chap from the Cure thinking he's Peter Hook and Flea's homage to Louis Johnson.
