Re: The Gibson Les Paul Model thread

Watching the Foo Fighters tonight there were a few nice LPs being swapped in for both Pat Smear and Chris Shiflet at times, gave me hope rock isn’t on the way out and the classic LP into a stack is still as stronger statement as ever. Coffee with my daughter in a cafe this morning. She started show...

Re: Setzer set swaparoo (now with demos)

I wouldn't have a clue what to do with that guitar but it's bloody cool.

Re: VHNGD - '72 Strat

Spent the afternoon wiring-up another drop-in. When I came to remove the old one I discovered the output from the volume pot was hanging by a thread. Maybe that explains why I wasn't too happy with the sound. Anyway, new pickups going in tomorrow.

Re: The Gibson Les Paul Model thread

What sort of guitar situation are you running over there molly ? Room for the stinky strat and a lester to cohabitate ? Have not been in the gibson fanboi camp long butmy leanings in terms of les pauls fall squarely on gold tops and TV yellow specials/juniors both of which benefit from ] beat to he...

IMHO any reference to Bon Jovi should result in instant cessation of chocolate rations.

Re: VHNGD - '72 Strat

Thats cool Molly, dig the off white coronation evaporated milk finish. Is it quacky ? I'll be honest. It sounds a bit shit. We'll, maybe. Bit kind of harsh sounding and a bit dark. I've a set of Josefina CS pickups I can try. The BK drop-in has 300k pots. Would that matter? No worries. I'll just re...

VHNGD - '72 Strat

I've been chasing this guitar around a few owners. Once very nice guy and one shady. Last night I caught-up with it again and bought it. It'll never be a collector piece. It's a '72 neck (albeit with a 71 serial number on the neck plate according to the Fender decoder thing), and a 73 body (or did h...

Re: The Gibson Les Paul Model thread

Great thread. I've always struggled with the LP ergonomics but a nice one is something to behold.

Re: A Homebrew Friedman Smallbox

The Smallbox amp itself has a percussive chug-chug at high gain settings that's like being punched in the face. Great amp.

Re: Survey: PLEASE RE-VOTE How many effects pedals do you own?

It's all good here but it's my wife's home, not mine. She's now finally realized that NZ feels more like home to her than here. We've got a whole shipping container to fill so I'll definitely be looking for some cheapies to bring back. Hope to see you there again myself one day. ..and sel...
