Re: Back to basics
Slight hijack... Speaking of OD/crunch tones on Line 6 stuff, before moving back to NZ I had a Pod 2.0 running into a Hot Rod Deluxe and really dug using the black face setting with the gain wound up a bit as an overdrive into the Deluxe. I'm really trying to find a pedal that gives me that sound s...

I knew someone would say that. I know it seems obvious but I really just want it in a smaller dedicated stompbox if possible.

Really like the idea of being able to blend the different tube types!

Re: New Fender Hot Rod III series
Pretty sure there aren't different watt options within each model, the Deluxe is a 40w 1x12 and the Deville is a 60w 2x12. Not sure what the NZ new prices are as I live in the UK.SammyD wrote:How much are these new anyway? There are different Watt options right?

Re: New Fender Hot Rod III series
Just pulled the trigger on that Deluxe, hopefully I can pick it up tomorrow. Went for a decent price which also means I can buy a couple of pedals at the same time as well. Gonna get the Boss RC-2 and a Carbon Copy, and maybe a POG 2. I have major GAS :D POG2 into Carbon Copy is so trippy. :mrgreen...

Re: New Fender Hot Rod III series
Well I'm wanting to tame the volume overall so that I can get wound-up tone but at bedroom volume, but if I can get a log-taper pot fitted then I'll do that as well. Cheers for your help guys, there's a deluxe next door in Bath for a pretty sweet price so if the planets align and the gods smile upon...

Re: New Fender Hot Rod III series
Haha, you know this from personal experience do ya? :P I think I'm sold on the 1x12, I managed to get over myself pretty quickly lol. These are the attenuater pedals I'm talking about, if I get an older model with the super-loud-super-quick volume issues, will they still work in terms of taming it i...

Re: New Fender Hot Rod III series
Yeah that's what I've read, and I am tempted to go with the new 3rd gen models for that reason, but there's a guy over here who makes attenuater pedals for them so you can tame that volume. They're basically a volume pedal that you whack in the effects loop. Oh and whatever I get I will be cranking ...

Re: New Fender Hot Rod III series
Haha. That's cool, cos the 1x12 also opens up the option of the Blues Deluxe as well, which looks kinda cool. But I'm also just a bit hesitant with a 1x12 because my last amp was a 4x12, so I don't want to have a diminished 'Manly Factor', if you get me

Re: New Fender Hot Rod III series
Thought I'd dredge this up rather than clog the internet up with another "recommend me an amp" thread :P I'm looking at getting one of these, but not sure whether to go for the 1x12 or 2x12. By the sounds of things some of you guys have the 1x12 Deluxe - is it loud enough for jamming with ...
