Re: Getting back in the game

Sorry to spam your thread but any interest in my Orange TH30? Switching takes it down to 15 or 7 watts. Nah all good, keep em coming. I will admit I went and listened to some youtube demos when you listed it, but to be honest, I tried one back in the day (when I ended up getting the Marshall), and ...

Re: Getting back in the game

Got the chance to have a quick play on an AC15, AC10 and Blues Jr thanks to Polar Bear. (Cheers man!)

I liked them all.

The Fender had that forgiving bouncy clean, and the AC's were midsy and jangly, to the surprise of no one. I could live with any of them. The AC10 was surprisingly ballsy.

Re: Getting back in the game

Though, given I don't have an amp at the moment, my tone is really transparent as is.

Re: Getting back in the game

So, little update from me on this quest... Tried a Katana at the Rockshop today. (they didn't have Blues Jrs in stock and don't stock Vox AC10's). And.... Yeah, not for me. It sounded fine, for what it was, and 13 year old me would've thought it was a big step above my Ashton and Zoom 505 combo. But...

Re: Getting back in the game

Soldano speaker seems like an odd choice? I actually reckon it's a pretty cool choice for a 5E3. The Soldano (Eminence) X12000 (or whatever it's called) is a pretty dark speaker and would smooth a 5E3 out in a lovely way, I would guess. Oh, and welcome back!!!! Ok, that makes more sense. And cheers...

Re: Getting back in the game

Any thoughts on this little guy? http://www.trademe.co.nz/music-instruments/instruments/guitar-bass/guitar-amps/auction-1336916488.htm Considering the price of the other stuff he's selling, I'd guess this one is overpriced too. Yeah, felt overpriced to me too. Was considering making a cheeky offer ...

Cheers man, but I'm looking for something a bit more portable... my last amp was a 2x12 combo. :-)
