The latest $200 Bluetooth are magic. I can't notice difference in tone from leads, even on bass guitar. The do a 3 hour gig when fully charged. Been thinking about a wireless set up for my rig.
Nothing too pricey but reliable and not tone sucky.
I usually use LP and Tele style guitars into vintage NMV Marshall amp.

The more recording I do, the more I realise that sound engineers are the real geniuses of Good Tone The few times I've recorded with a decent sound engineer, they have gone to my amp, looked at how I've set up the tone and gain controls and gone "No", then set it up to sound good recorded...
