And ageist. :P

Should have mentioned, I’d like whomever is keen, to come to rehearsal a few nights before to go through the rundown.

Wanted: Paid. Auckland. Guitar tech/stage help for one off private gig

Hi team, Looking for someone healthy, alert, slim (compact stage) and tolerant of some old guys making noise for the first time in years. Our band leader is turning 60 and the Mysterons are turning 40! We’ve booked Whammy Bar on 10th June for a private party. It’s gonna be a bit of a production. :lo...

Re: Talk to me about wireless..

I’ve got the boss one, with the receiver/charger in pedal format. WL50 I think. Works great, range is further than you’ll need, never had a battery problem, plenty of 4+ hr gigs / practice sessions. A few people have commented on it size and knockability, but has never been an issue for me. Cool. T...

Re: Talk to me about wireless..

The latest $200 Bluetooth are magic. I can't notice difference in tone from leads, even on bass guitar. The do a 3 hour gig when fully charged. Mine are 2 years old and still good. https://www.mightyape.co.nz/product/xvive-u2-wireless-guitar-system/27818486?gclid=Cj0KCQjwi46iBhDyARIsAE3nVrZkINKxzst...

Re: Talk to me about wireless..

Thanks for the info so far team. If you know me you’ll know I hardly move on stage so that’s not too big a concern. I also don’t have a worry about jack positions. (Ooh err. IB:JB) I gig sporadically but we’re doing a one off show (aren’t they all?) in June and it involves more than the usual guitar...

Re: Talk to me about wireless..

Cheers PB. And hey brother, been too long!

Good info there.

I was looking more at the plug straight into the jack types like those from Line6 and boss.

Any thoughts on those?

Talk to me about wireless..

Hey my learned brethren.

Been thinking about a wireless set up for my rig.
Nothing too pricey but reliable and not tone sucky.
I usually use LP and Tele style guitars into vintage NMV Marshall amp.

Any advice, suggestions and recommendations appreciated.

Re: Trying to form a band.

I think it sounds awesome. If I was not already in a committed relationship, I’d be so there. If you don’t mind me saying, the pitch seems too comprehensive. Does sound a bit like you’ve got it all worked out and that might make other musicians feel like they’d not have much chance for input. Minds ...

Your post made me curious enough to go and track this down for a listen. Very cool. Right up my street - bluesy stoner rock like the devil and the almighty blues or asteroid. Cheers!

Re: The One Thing Every Influential Guitar Tone Has In Common

The more recording I do, the more I realise that sound engineers are the real geniuses of Good Tone The few times I've recorded with a decent sound engineer, they have gone to my amp, looked at how I've set up the tone and gain controls and gone "No", then set it up to sound good recorded...
