(Unless I am mistaken) Stevie Ray's signature strat has 3 texas special pups... I've never tried one on the bridge but have them in neck and mid on my ax. They sound fender-fat, overwound so a bit noisy but very nice for the hendrix or SRV sound... the pup rods are at different heights which makes ...

Hey man, I play a USA Lonestar Strat... its... awesome! I believe it has a SD Pearly Gates on the bridge... real nice classic gutsy PAF sounds with bright harmonics... A must have, and I'm sure they'll last for ages... mine have already developed an (insulatory) wax coating :shock:... the price difference seems to be in the different brands, but they all get made in Aussie.

I called up all the audiology (hearing aid stuff) clinics in the area, and had to hunt around. Some places were selling brands up to $400, but I got these "GN Resound" ones at the Canterbury Uni Audiology Clinic for $120. They take a mould of your ear and send it to Oz for them to get made...

Gotta look after your ears eh... :? I have just purchased some musician's flat-EQ response moulded plugs myself... $120 and theyre great. Good thing is they're only 10dB attentuation which means they cut just enough that I don't feel wierd and isolated like my cheapo 25 dB ones tended to make me fee...

My first electric was my (student loaned) lonestar strat, had it 10 years, still my only electric and I play every day... its just a sweet guitar! 8) Fender vs LP? Well its like chocolat...
