With the DeVille i probably dont quite need it that loud, was after a deluxe but got a good deal on the DeVille. About a deluxe i thinks good. :) My bandmate has one of those little MPC 5W tweed amps, it was a dirty dirty dirty gainy beast with the 12ax7 in there and the 6V6 power tube it had, he put in a 12at7 (I think) and a 6L6 power tube, it's super clean now right up to full volume!! Nah, pedals are at their best adding something extra to good sound, be it toneshaping, gain, volume, or texture.
