BATTLE CIRCUS & DECORTICA. KINGS ARMS THIS SAT.

Post by Capt. Black »

Just in case you didn't know about this gig, click the link for details.

This is one of my most anticipated shows this year. Both bands have been rehearsing hard at the Manor and I can honestly say they both sound better than ever and they were better than awesome before. If you can make it to the Kings Arms this weekend you won't be disappointed.

To be honest when I saw Battle Circus open for Jakob a wee while back I was expecting far better than what I heard. It sounded like a wall of noise, was horrifically loud, and seemingly dragged on for bloody ages. I should give their recorded material a listen to see if it's any better as I have heard them being spoken of highly, but if it's anything like that performance I saw I'd rather eat a shoe.

I just listened to a few songs of their recorded stuff and it is pretty good. But I can imagine it being hard to pull off live. Without a backing track for the orchestral and textural stuff and without just the right levels for each instrument it could sound quite bad.

Seen Decortica a few times, met a few people from Battle Circus but haven't yet seen them. Next time, then.

Damnit. Maurice invited us to open that show. But I was in Korea. Gutted.

Pity bro, I still haven't made it to one of your shows. Perhaps we can organize an AK show in the next few months?

Man, I really rate Decortica.

I wish they'd come down south and play a few gigs

Awesome! What would you have in mind? We are actually playing the Kings Arms on Friday June 18th (hope you can make it bro!)... but it won't be quite the same as supporting the almighty Jakob there :). Shame for us, as they probably won't do Auckland again until the knock the next album out. Anyway bro, If you have any ideas and want to get the ball rolling, just PM me or hit us up via myspazz/facebook.

Did you hear about the Isis split? :(
