Dave Weiner/PRS Guitars/Free Clinic/Wellington/Reg Now

Post by NZRS-Dave »

Guys,

It's with a fair degree of annoyance that I let you know that you lucky sods who live in Wellington, or are going to the G3 show will be able to go to a FREE PRS Clinic with Steve Vai's left hand axe man - Dave Weiner.

It's annoying, because it's in Wellington and I am not going.

I've been following Dave's website for a few years and have his debut album as well. I believe he used to lecture as GIT and is a competent all round guitar player. He can shred, he can jazz, he can wail, he can sweep, he can pluck, he can fingerstyle, he can chicken picken it.

It's in conjunction with PRS Guitars, so you can bet your bottom dollar that PRS will be covered in great depth. If I recall correctly, Dave recently played with Paul on stage.
In Dave’s own words wrote:
“My clinics are a solid mixture of information and example-based performance with an emphasis on the how and why (I believe a clinic is a teaching avenue, not a concert). I will certainly incorporate the PRS gear being used into the conversation and how it helps/motivates/inspires me.”
Here are the details:

WHEN: Friday March 23rd (the day before the G3 Wellington show)
WHERE: Lion Harborview Lounge @ Michael Fowler Centre
ENTRY: FREE, but registrations are required; Instore or online at http://www.rockshop.co.nz

The clinic page isn't ready for registration, but I thought you guys would want to know asap.

Have fun without me.

The clinic will be a 7:30pm start.

It should be a good one - Dave is a great guitarist and a super nice guy!

Hey come on guys ... he's too nice of a guy to be making jokes like that.

In fact, I think he's actually changed his public name to David J for this reason.
